North Medford Area Director

Missy Masterjohn, North Medford Area Director since 2009 for Rogue Valley Youth for Christ. Missy has an amazing husband named Chris who is a blessing to share life with. Not only is Missy blessed in her personal life because of Chris, she is also blessed in her ministry because of his heart for the kids in our community.

She runs the North Medford Campus Life Youth Center and programs 5 days a week for 6th-12th graders. Missy also spends time at the local Middle School volunteering and spending lunch once a week with kids. During the School year she runs 2 club programs, Free Lunch for high Schoolers 2 days a week and after school Drop-In. During the Summer the Youth Center is open for  Drop-in and Gardening Club. Though we do go from program to program, the heart of what we do is live life with kids and provide a safe place and safe adults for them to be around. Programs just provide opportunity to minister to kids…and to have a little fun. Missy loves living life with kids. She loves that ministry has the ability to permeate all that we are. She sees more and more the need for kids to have safe and loving people in their lives and is blessed to be part of that. Missy also loves that being part of YFC means holistically caring for kids. In North Medford we feed kids, we play games with them, we work in the garden with them, and we ultimately get to show them a way to our amazing God. This is the kind of work people can’t believe they get to do.

Apart from YFC, Missy belongs to an amazing community of faith at The Water’s Edge Community Church. She helps with worship and gets to be part of various other church activities like serving at the Maslow Project and working with the church’s youth. Apart from church and YFC Missy also loves spending time at home and in her neighborhood, believing that ministry extends to our neighbors and the way we steward this world. Missy and Chris are faithful CSA members to Fry Family Farm and spend a lot of time with their 4 urban chickens, working in the garden and cooking in the kitchen.
