Raven’s Story: Freedom!

Posted on by Martin Corder

In the Bible it says, “So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.” [Romans 10:17]

Meaning that it's through God’s people sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ that we're brought to faith in Jesus! This was demonstrated this last 4th of July by one of our Campus Life volunteers, Marilyn, taking the time to share God’s story with a 14-year-old. Raven came by Eagle Point Campus Life to say "Hi!" and "What's up?" This led to an hour long discussion. They talked about family, fashion, hair color, what they had planned for the day… But, in the middle of all that, Marilyn brought God’s story into the conversation. She explained, "Jesus made a way for anyone to be right with God.” [1Corinthians 5:21] She told her, “God gave us Jesus because he loves us.” [John 3:16] Raven said, “I want Jesus to be Lord of my life!” It was a perfect day to be freed from the burden of sin, to have a right relationship with God through Jesus with it being Independence Day. Raven ended with saying, “I never would have done this, or known this if you didn’t take the time to talk with me.”

You to can bring faith into the lives of lost and hurting kids in our valley by sharing God’s story with them. Just give us a call at 541-779-3275 or visit us on line at roguevalleyyfc.org to find out how you can speak into a life of a teen.
