training wheels come off

Do you remember when your faith went to work and came alive? Trey does.

At Juvenile Detention, Trey was telling me how he prays for God to take away his worry. (His situation is uncertain… “Will I be going to corrections?” “For how long?”…) He told me, “After I pray, the worry goes away, but comes back later.” I asked Trey what Bible verses he had in his heart and was met with a blank stare. At that moment we identified that he was not replacing his worries with the Word while trusting God to work. I shared some of my favorite verses and encouraged him to find his own to memorize. The next day, with eyes beaming, he proudly recited the Lord’s Prayer “Pray then like this: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.”

I love seeing the training wheels come off as Trey's faith gets put to work! Thank you, for your partnership in this amazing work—you make it possible!
