Trust to Hope

Posted on by Martin Corder

Two stories crossed my desk the other day. . .

One, from a girl who’s suffered physical and emotional abuse and has learned to dull the pain with drugs. Her addiction has gotten her placed in detention... The other story is of a teenage boy whose parents have abandoned him because they are both addicts, and his mom taught him to deal drugs as a kid. He’s struggling with the pain of having parents who don’t care.
What struck me though, was in the middle of intense pain from a lifetime of hurt, both these young people understood God loves them. They professed that they loved God… but in spite of all the hurt they’ve experienced they know God loves them. That understanding only comes from a heart touched by God. My favorite line was from a text the girl sent, “I love Him and know He is walking with me in my life. He loves me, and I love Him!!!”
These kids have been changed from the inside out. They’ve been brought hope through trust. Trust in a loving God brought to them through trust in a caring adult. You’ve made this possible… Thank you!!
